Czech Republic EPR — Act No. 542/2020 Coll. on Products with End-of-Life Management. The regulatory authority is Ministry of the Environment, operating through the EKO-KOM system.

All producers, importers, online sellers, and fulfillment service providers placing packaged goods on the Czech Republic market must register with a PRO and fulfill EPR obligations. Non-Czech Republic sellers must appoint an Authorized Representative.

EKO-KOM is the sole authorized packaging compliance scheme (AOS — Autorizovaná obalová společnost) in the Czech Republic. All companies placing packaging on the Czech market must contract with EKO-KOM. There are no competing PROs:

Registration: ekokom.cz — Client zone portal

Reporting & Deadlines: Quarterly (by 25th of following month). Packaging data must be reported by material type and weight. Reports are submitted through EKO-KOM Portal.

Maximum Fine: CZK 10,000,000 (~€400,000). Non-compliance with Czech Republic EPR regulations can result in fines, marketplace listing deactivation, and legal consequences. Amazon and other marketplaces may independently verify compliance and suspend non-compliant sellers.

If you sell on Amazon, eBay, or other marketplaces and ship products to Czech Republic, you are responsible for EPR compliance in this market. The "pay on behalf" model is ending — marketplaces will no longer handle this for you. Register now to avoid listing deactivation.
